Meet Dr. Chao

Headshot of Dr. ChaoDr. Maggie T. Chao earned her DMD from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. She then furthered her training at Harvard to sharpen her diagnostic and clinical skills with a residency in Prosthodontics. During her residency, she was awarded for her achievements in material science research and excellence in clinical care. Dr. Chao also earned a Master of Medical Science in Oral Biology.

Dr. Chao is passionate about dentistry and delivering the highest quality care to all of her patients. She practices the full scope of prosthetic and esthetic dentistry—from veneers to dental implants, crowns, and bridges.  She is an expert in full-mouth reconstructions, including All-On-4/Teeth in a Day smile transformations.

Born and raised in California, Dr. Chao completed her undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley before moving to Boston for dental school. Having returned to the Bay Area in 2002, Dr. Chao briefly taught at UCSF and managed to keep up to date with the latest technology as an active member in the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the Southern Alameda Dental Society, and the American College of Prosthodontics. Dr. Chao is a board-eligible member of the American Board of Prosthodontists. Locally, she is the Prosthodontic consultant to several Study Clubs dedicated to improving the knowledge base of dentists in our community.

In her spare time, Dr. Chao enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband Wan and two children, Jasmine and Rex.  She also loves home projects so if you have tips to share—bring them with you!
